Abstract

En la zona de la cuenca alta del rio Balsas (municipios de Tepecoacuilco de Trujano, Huitzuco de los Figueroa, Mártir de Cuilapan y Copalillo) se proyecta construir una presa hidroeléctrica, ubicada en él sitio del pueblo San Juan Telelcingo. Dicha presa estaria a cargo de la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) e inundaría o afectaría a más de 25 pueblos (incluso los pueblos amateros) con una población estimada de 35 000 personas. Este proyecto se hace a pesar del problema de azolvamiento generalizado que existe en la cuenca del Balsas.
