Abstract
We are delivering issue 85 of TRACE, featuring a general section of articles addressing original and valuable topics for the archaeology, anthropology, and study of the cultural, linguistic, social, and biological heritage of Mesoamerica. In the first of these articles, answers are provided about the function and meaning of tejos in the societies of the Altiplano and southeastern Mexico. These objects or "ceramic fragments of pots, bowls, and jars" have been the subject of discussions about their monetary, playful, or other uses. In any case, as the reader can verify, the drawings in the article allow us to confirm that their omnipresence in the region is not easily explained.
