Abstract
Xipe Totec, Nuestro Señor el Desollado, es un dios azteca particularmente sanguinario, tanto en sus representaciones como en su ritual el cual se llevaba a cabo en la primavera con la fiesta anual del Desollamiento (Tlacaxipehualiztli). Anne-Marie Vié-Wohrer considera que la divinidad constituye, junto con las ceremonias que se efectuaban en su honor, un "complejo divino" que la autora define como "... el conjunto de representaciones de los personajes divinos y humanos, de objetos y de escenas rituales que rodean a Xipe Totec y a los dioses que se le asimilan" (pág. 23), y que ella analizará a lo largo de su obra.
